Our friends over at Suvudu are as excited as we are about the April 17 premiere of George R. R. Martin's Game of Thrones on HBO. In anticipation of this weekend's sneak peek at the series, writer Shawn Speakmann shared his expectations of the series. Check out what he had to say ...
April 17th can’t come soon enough.
Thankfully we have April 3rd!
This Sunday, HBO will preview a fifteen-minute sneak peek of the first episode in "Game of Thrones," the live-action adaptation of the novel by George R. R. Martin. This is a full two weeks before the entire episode will air, giving fans an early glimpse at what assuredly will be the first critical moments that take place north of the Wall and quite possibly the first scene featuring the Stark family. I can’t wait. GAME OF THRONES EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW debuts April 3rd at 9:00 p.m. (ET/PT).
Then, following the preview, HBO will immediately put those fifteen minutes on hbo.com and HBO Go, as well as being featured on HBO On Demand early Monday, April 4th.
In effect, this Sunday, Winter is Coming!
The question now is: What should we expect?
Everyone I’ve talked to about GRRM’s A Song of Ice & Fire has favorite characters. I’m a Tyrion and Jon Snow fan myself. To me, these characters and all the rest have to be treated with the utmost respect in the HBO show. Not just for fans of GRRM’s work, obviously, but also for those people who have not read the series. Many watchers new to GRRM won’t be able to distinguish the adaptive validity of what HBO is attempting to do.
