Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises" has had fans of DC comic book hero Batman chomping at the bit for what feels like forever. The movie, which will star Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Tom Bane, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Gary Oldman among others, won't hit theaters until July 20. Luckily, we can get a taste of the movie's action by listening to samples from the score. We're betting there's something truly bad ass happening during "Underground Army."

If you're having trouble figuring out which classic to throw into your beach bag this summer,'s voluminous Summer Reading Flowchart has got you covered, offering everything from Maya Angelou to Kurt Vonnegut depending on whatever floats your boat. Resist the urge to binge on the same old pile of poolside tabloid mags -- let Truman Capote scandalize you instead!

And while we're going with the flowchart, here's a scarily comprehensive example that tracks all the various interlocking Stephen King universes, making (some) sense out of the pantheon of recurring characters, themes, and fictitious New England townships. (Castle Rock in particular seems to be rather hard on its sheriffs -- there have been three, starting with George Bannerman  in 1979's The Dead Zone.)

A Redditor was good enough to post this collection of production photos which will forever change the way you look at certain classic film scenes. Seeing the pile of old mattresses waiting to catch Luke Skywalker if he should happen to lose his grip allowed me to breathe a sigh of relief that I've apparently been holding in since I was five years old.

Does it reduce my credibility as a high-brow aesthete to express sincere enthusiasm for the forthcoming "Magic Mike," the new Steven Soderbergh film inspired by Channing Tatum's early years as a male stripper? As you can see in the new sort of NSFW red-band trailer, these actors are fully committed to their performances, and have the buns-less underwear to prove it.
